The Long Journeys
Some parts of the Arcanum aren't a single draw but a path you walk at your own pace: the ascent of the Tree of Life, the twenty-day Magnum Opus of Inner Alchemy, and the birth-face of the Tzolk'in. Here's how each unfolds and unlocks.
Not every part of the Arcanum is "draw once, read once." These three are long paths — walked at your own pace, one step at a time, kept forever. They don't watch the moon or your rank; they open as you walk them through.
Tree of Life · Ten Sanctums, Twenty-Two Paths
The ascent of the Hermetic Tree of Life. You perform a rite in a sanctum (bring an offering, receive a deep reading) and walk the paths as imaginal journeys (a journey through a tarot card's imagery). For now the lower three sanctums + three paths are open.
- How it unlocks (structural, not time-based):
- Kingdom (Malkuth) is the start — open from the beginning.
- To enter the Foundation (Yesod) sanctum, first walk Path 32; to enter Splendor (Hod), walk Path 31 or 30.
- Each path needs two things ready: the departure sanctum's rite already done + that path's "doorway" tarot Major Arcanum already drawn in the Tarot module — a cross-module unlock: draw the matching Major in Tarot, and the path lights up.
- Each sanctum and path once, kept forever. Entry: Arcanum → Tree of Life.
Inner Alchemy · The Twenty-Day Magnum Opus
Transmute one old pattern, over twenty days and four stages, into your own Philosopher's Stone. The four stages: Nigredo → Albedo → Citrinitas → Rubedo, five days each.
- How to walk it: first name your "prima materia" (the old pattern you want to transmute); then check in one step each day, with an optional daily note. One opus at a time — you can't start a new one until the current is complete. Day 5 is the "peacock's tail," day 20 is "casting the Stone."
- Counted by check-ins: a broken streak resumes (day N = your Nth check-in, not the calendar). Entry: Arcanum → Inner Alchemy.
Tzolk'in · The Face of Your Birth
The 260-day sacred count. Every day carries a "face of the day" (a Kin), and you can reveal the Kin of your own birth.
- How to walk it: today's Kin and the codex of the 20 day-signs are instant (no AI — pure calendrics); revealing your birth face needs a birth date in your profile (if it's missing, the page points you to Settings to add it). The birth face is revealed once in a lifetime.
- Entry: Arcanum → Tzolk'in Wheel.
